Landscape of Memory

textile, tapestry

This is a textile project about personality and security, inspired by the view from the balcony window of my home in China. The work takes the form of a carpet project inspired by artist Alexandra Kehayoglou. In my context, the scenery outside the window means a soft blanket that can wrap me up and give me a sense of security.

By recording the changes outside the window 24 hours a day, I extract the parts that are most meaningful to me, and integrate them into emotions and transform them into patterns.

Material: fabric 2m,  wooden frame 75x100cm, weaving frame, scissors, crochet hook needles, bandage tool set, four-ply wool group*16 colours, eight-ply wool group*3 colours, felt*8 colours, green plastic tube 1m, straw rope roll 10m, 9 kinds of sequins.
